Abraham Polak was a son of Jacob Hijman Polak and Sara Hartog. He married 28 May 1896 in Amsterdam to Sophia Koen, from whom he divorced on 2 August 1934.
Abraham and Sophia had together two children: Jacob (who most likely has survived the Holocaust) and Maria.
One month later, Abraham Polak remarried on 26 September 1934 to Grietje Engelsman, a daughter of Isaac Engelsman and Rebekka van der Sluis and in 1936 their daughter Lida was born.
