Rozetta Smeer was a daughter of Levie Smeer and Grietje Bromet. She married 5 June 1940 in Amsterdam to Joseph Hijman van de Kar, a son of Hillel van de Kar and Abigael Lisser. In 1942 the couple had a child, who has survived the war.
Rozetta Smeer was born in a family with eight children, of whom the last born baby only lived 1 day. Her other siblings were Sara, Flora, Sientje, Hendrika, Israel en Aron. They too were killed during the Holocaust.
