Schoontje Mug was a daughter of Jacob Levie Mug and Mietje Zwaab. She married on 6 Juli 1892 in Rotterdam to Michiel de Winter from Oss, son of Jesaias de Winter and Elizabeth Heirsch. The couple had in total 11 children, one stillborn son, two sons who have died as babies and one son who survived the Holocaust. The other children were Elizabeth, Mietje, Jesiais, Sara, Isaac, Johanna en Abram.
