About Joseph van Os

Joseph van Os was a son of Nathan van Os and Keetje Weesel. He was married in Amsterdam on 12 December 1906 to the widow of Isaac de Vries, Vogeline de Rosa. The couple had six children together: Nathan, Wilhelmina - she survived the Holocauste - Neftalie, and the sons who lived at the same address as their parents: Hartog, Andries en Salomon. Joseph was a vendor on the Albert Cuypstraat market. The couple lived at 17 Jodenbreestraat, third floor, in Amsterdam.

Joseph van Os brought several items of jewelry to the SD on the Euterpestraat to negotiate a postponement of deportation. The jewelry was confiscated. Joseph van Os and Vogeline de Rosa had six children. Five were killed in the war: Nathan van Os, Neftalie van Os, Hartog van Os, Andries van Os and Salomon van Os.
