Salomon Haagens and Marianna Bertha Diependaal were married at Westerbork transit camp on 10 October 1942. He was a bookkeeper and the son of Eleazar Haagens and Jansje Boekbinder. She was a telephonist and a daughter of shop manager Jacques Henri Diependaal and Helena Hes. The parents of the bride attended the marriage ceremony; they signed the marriage certificate.
