Max Berlijn was a son of Jacob Berlijn and Esther Lakmaker. He was unmarried and lived since October with his parents and brother in Antwerp.
His brother Louis and his family were killed in Sobibor. Max himself was deported on 29 August 1942 from Mechelen to Auschwitz with Convoy VI and killed there on 31 August 1942.
