Hijman van Loon was a son of Salomon van Loon and Marianna Bonewit, who both passed away already before the war.
He married 15 February 1923 in Amsterdam to Eva Pampel, a daughter of Mozes Pampel and Saartje Digtmaker. The couple had one child.
Hijman was born in a family with 10 children. One little sister died in 1896, only 2 years old. One brother and one sister have survived the war but the other siblings, namely Clara, Isaac, Philip, Vogelina, Nathan and Louis have been killed during the Holocaust.
