Isadore Lion and Betje Monasch were married in Westerbork transit camp on 28 December 1942. He was a civil servant by profession and the widower of Anna Monasch. He was a son of Simon Lion and Sophia Hartog Philip, both deceased. Betje was a daughter of Louis Monasch and Rosette Bremer, both deceased. An annotation on the marriage certificate reads:"The bride declared not to be able to sign, because of her being blind."
