Daniel Mozes called himself Daniel Nijveen. He was the son of Simon Mosis and Mietje Joosten. Daniel Nijveen got married to Eva Bierman. The couple had four children: Simon, Mietje, Aron (who died at a young age) and one child that survived the war.

Daniel Nijveen made use of the services of his non-Jewish neighbour during the shabbat, to switch on the gas and similar little works. In return the neighbour could make use of the obligatory bicycle plate, since the family of Daniel Nijveen did not use the bicycle on the sabbath.
