Simon Bernhard van Aalten was a son of Izaak Simon van Aalten and Flora Catz. He was the widower of Anna Hartog who had died on 13 June 1942.
Simon Bernhard van Aalten was an ironmonger.

Frits van Aalten was a son of Simon Bernhard van Aalten and Anna Hartog. He lived with his parents and his brother Karel on the Frans Halsplein 4 in Haarlem. Frits was an office-clerk. His brother Karel was a student.
