Verhaal

Gideon Prinz's family and former residence.

Door: rpm_bln

Gideon Prinz emigrated to the Netherlands prior to 17 February 1939 from Aachen, Germany. Prior to that he lived with his parents at Reuschestr. 47/48 in Breslau, Germany (currently Ruska street in Wrocław, Poland). His father Theodor Prinz (born on 25 December 1883 in Breslau) operated a construction firm. Gideon's mother was Lucie Prinz née Böhm (born on 1 January 1893 in Ratibor, Schlesien, note that the day and month of birth may indicate that only the year is known). Theodor and Lucie were deported from Breslau on 25 November 1941 to Kowno (Kauen) Fort IX, where they were executed upon arrival.

Gideon is included in the "Death Books of Auschwitz" (State Museum of Auschwitz, KG Saur, Munich 1995) with the prisoner number 8256. This indicates that rather than being gassed upon arrival, he was conscripted for forced labour. His date of death is there indicated as 17 August 1942.
