Contribution about Henriette Luise Blumenthal, the mother of Käthe Blumenthal

Henriette Luise Blumenthal was an anatomic painter. Laurens de Rooy writes about her in his book on the Snijburcht.

Interestingly, Blumenthal continued to draw in Theresienstadt and some of her drawings survive in the Prague Jewish Museum. Lilly Pokorny, a radiologist, remembered that Blumenthal told her her daughter tried to jump from the train to Auschwitz, was injured, and sent to Auschwitz hurt.

Luise Blumenthal survived and died in 1963.
