Holocaust overleefd?
Vond het volgende over Werner Ernst Hirschfeld, het lijkt erop dat hij de oorlog heeft overleefd. De data en plaatsen waar hij verbleef, kloppen tot 1944 met zijn persoonskaart uit Weerselo:
Collection: Werner - Ze'ew Hirschfeld.
Werner - Ze'ew Hirschfeld was born in 1920 in Breslau, Germany (now Wroclaw, Poland).
This collection includes:
- Testimony recorded in August 1955 (in German, undated, with text in Hebrew).
In the testimony:
- His coming to Havelberg, Germany in 1936, in the framework of "individual hachshara" (Zionist pioneering training).
- Moving to "individual hachshara" placements in Hengelo and in Velp, the Netherlands, in 1939.
- Hiding by a farmer in the area of Almelo between 1941 and 1943.
- Relocating to a hiding place in the area of Friesland in January 1943.
- His arrest in January 1944, after having been informed on, and his deportation to the Westerbork camp.
- His escape in March 1944, aided by members of the Zionist pioneering underground in the camp.
- His arrival in France and the journey through the Pyrenees mountains to Spain, on April 4, 1944.
- His arrival at Lerida on April 6, 1944.
- His immigration to Palestine in November 1944 on board the ship, "Guinee."

- A memorial booklet (in Hebrew) from March 16, 1986, produced by the members of Kibbutz Gal Ed.
