Heinz Joachim came to the Netherlands on January 5th, 1939. First he stayed at the Dommelhuis in Eindhoven, from there he went to live with a family in Rotterdam (in August 1939), but in May 1940 he was taken in the orphanage in that city. In October 1942 he went to Westerbork.
