Op dit moment - mei 2012 - hebben we van de 4 studenten (die de bootbediening verrichten) en 46 passagiers (aantallen onder voorbehoud) aan boord van de Zeemanshoop de meeste mensen geidentificeerd. Drie blijken er nog in leven te zijn van de teruggevonden passagiers. De volgende passagiers moeten we nog middels een betrouwbaar contact identificeren:

As we speak - May 2012 - we have identified most of the 4 students (pilotting the boat) and 46 passengers (numbers could differ) on board the Zeemanshoop. Three of the identified passengers are even still among us. The following list of passengers still remains to be confirmed by a firm and reliable contact with themselves or there next of kin:
- Arnheim / Aruheim (3 dames/women, 1 man)
- Mrs Daniëls
- Mr. Fisher en vrouw (and wife)
- Mr. Goldschmidt en vrouw (and wife)
- Mr. Goldschmidt (2) en vrouw (and wife)
- Mr. Jacob Meijer / Meyer / Meier (apparently a 'merchant')
- Mr. Meuleman en vrouw (and wife)
- Mr. or Mrs. Singer
- Mr. or Mrs. van Wezel
- Mr. or Mrs. P. Zaitichek / Zaitichik
- A Dutch sergeant on board, armed with a rifle (fired a warning shot to others on shore to stop jumping on board), possible with his wife or sister (according to Mr. Belinfante he had a woman with him).
