Jakob Aussen and his family

In 1923 Jakob Aussen married Klara Winter in Germany. The couple had two daughters, Anna Sophie and Herta. The family lived at 8 Havenpad in Wijhe. Jakob Aussen worked at a smithy. At the beginning of the war he was taken to the Lievelde labour camp at Lichtenvoorde. On 2 October 1942 he was transferred to Westerbork, from where he and his wife and daughters were deported to Auschwitz on 14 September 1943.
