About the Jacob Pijpeman family

 

 

Jacob Pijpeman was a son of Wolf Pijpeman, a dealer in sponges, and Roosje Trijtel. Jacob had six other brothers and one sister, namely Hartog, Samuel Hartog, Meijer, Joseph, Philip, Abraham and Sara. Only his sister Sara has survived the Holocaust. His mother passed away already in 1926 in Rotterdam but his father and all his brothers were killed in the Shoah.

On 2 June 1937 married Jacob Pijpeman in Rotterdam Betje Roodfeld, a daughter of Jacob Emanuel Roodfeld and Marianne Lipschits. In November 1937 their son Wolf was born.

On 10 April 1943, the Jacob Pijpeman family was registered in Camp Westerbork, where they had to stay in barack 70 for some days. On 27 April the family was deported to Sobibor where they have been killed immediately upon arrival there on 30 April 1943.
