About Ephraim Snoek (Frits)

Ephraim Snoek, mostly known as Frits, was a son of Mozes Snoek and Engeltje Coopman. On 23 May 1934 he married Henriette de Jong in Amsterdam, a daughter of Abraham de Jong and Sophia Meiler. The couple Snoek-de Jong had two daughters, Engelina Selma and Sophia Sybilla. Both daughters and their mother have survived the Holocaust.

Ephraim Snoek, a well known vendor of flowers with his stall near the Munttower in Amsterdam, was registerded in Camp Westerbork on 22 October 1942 and deported “Eastwards”, presumably to Auschwitz. Eventually on 31 March 1943, somewhere in Mid Europe, Ephraim Snoek has lost his life.
