Louis Goldsmit was a son of Simon Goldsmit and Rosa Seijffers, a family with seven children, of whom he self, Marcus, Hartog and Salomon have been killed during the Holocaust.
Louis married 16 March 1921 in Amsterdam to Roosje Dormits, a daughter of Joseph Dormits and Grietje van der Stam. The couple had one daughter: Grietje.
