Friede Chelem was a daughter of Itzik Chelem and Hanna Behr. She married 1 June 1939 in Amsterdam to Herman Monas, son of Jesaias Monas and Roosje de Metz. The couple had one son: Jacques Herman.
Fride's siblings were Lea, Salomon, and Gaye. Her sister Sila and her husband as well her sister Suzanna ( married to Meijer Denneboom, have survived the Holocaust.
