Levie Velleman was a son of Andries Levie Velleman and Sara Blog. He married in Utrecht on 15 October 1930 to Judith Querido, 24 years of age, daughter of Levie Querido and Roosje Lever.
Levie had two other brothters and one sister. Only his brother Maurits did not survive the war.
