Samuel Kahn was the son of Joseph Kahn and Esther Conen. He was married to Ida Neumann, daughter of Hermann Neumann and Marianne Ballin. The couple lived in Meppel where their son Herman Joseph was born. He died at a young age. In 1935 the couple moved to Gouda.
