Mietje Frenk was director of the Jewish Hospital in Rotterdam. She came from an orthodox family. She was unmarried. Her sister Kaatje was head of the housekeeping of the Jewish Hospital in Rotterdam. Mietje and Kaatje went into hiding in a holiday cottage in Coldenhove. Probably after being betrayed, they fell victim to a raid by the Sicherheitspolizei on 12 June 1944. Mietje asked to go to the toilet and there, she swallowed the cyanide she always carried with her. She died on 12 June 1944.
