Klara van Praag was the daughter of Jochem Emanuel van Praag (1861-1924) and Betje Groenstad (1861-1942). Klara belonged to a working-class family in Amsterdam. She had six brothers and sisters. All the children in this family became members of the SDAP and familiar organisations. But when the situation in the war became very bad for the family, there was little solidarity from the SDAP members towards their Jewish fellow members.
The efforts to find hiding places for the family Glasbeek-van Praag have failed.
