Grietje Gokkes was a daughter of Salomon Meijer Gokkes and Rachel Spreekmeester. She married Philip Schrijver in Amsterdam on 28 September 1935, a son of Juda Schrijver and Schoontje Gobes. The couple had three children, who have all survived the Holocaust.
