Hermann Rosenstein was a son of Chaim Rosenstein and Irma Lissauer. He married Sonja Cohen on 12 Augustus 1942. The choepa took place on 11 October 1942 in the Nieuwe Synagoge (New Synagogue) in Amsterdam. At that time his wife still lived with her parents. She survived the war, later married to Maurits Kiek, and died in 2016.
