Debora Bamberger was the daughter of Milka Mansfeld-Mulder and Samuel Bamberger. Her father died in 1939.
Shortly before the war, Debora Bamberger became pregnant. The father of her child fled The Netherlands by ship in May 1940. He survived the war abroad. Their child was born shortly before the Germans occupied the Netherlands. Debora entrusted her child to non-Jewish friends who helped the child to survive the war.
