About Leman van Gelder

Leman van Gelder (known as Leo) was a son of Benjamin van Gelder and Rebecca van Leer. He married Martha van Zuiden on 21 July 1942. The marriage took place in Zwolle, where his bride lived.
On 17 August 1942 Leman van Gelder was summoned to the labour camp at Linde, from where he was transferred to Westerbork. He found his wife Martha there. Martha was hospitalized in Westerbork for appendicitis. From Westerbork they were deported to Sobibor on 18 May 1943.
