Hartog Goldsmit was a son of Simon Goldsmit and Rosa Seijffers, a family with seven children, of whom he self, Louis, Marcus and Salomon have been killed during the Holocaust.
Hartog was a commercial traveller with wallpaper, was unmarried and lived in at the address Nieuwe Prinsengracht 10 III in Amsterdam, where his brother Salomon lived with his wife Rebecca Polak.
