Jacob Gobets was a son of Abraham Salomon Gobets and Rebecca de Hond. He married 13 January 1892 in Amsterdam to Betje Barend, a daughter of David Barend and Vogeltje Abraham van West. The couple had ten children, of whom two have died at young age and two children died before the war. The other children were Rebecca, Judith, Abraham, Sophia, Catharina (who still lives at home with her father) and David.
Jacob's wife Betje Barend passed away in March 1917 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen.
