Hendrika Sluijzer was the daughter of Eliazer Sluijzer and Rachel Leeda. She married 25 February 1936 in Deurne (Belgium) Louis Berlijn, a son of Jacob Berlijn and Esther Lakmaker. The couple had one son: Jacob.
From her siblings, the still at home with his parents living Benjamin and her married sister Judith have been killed in the Holocaust too, just as her brother Mozes, who was deported from Mechelen to Auschwitz with Convoy XV on 24 October 1942 and most likely killed upon arrival there. Her brother Gideon has survived the war.
