About Frouwke Swart-Kropveld

Frouwke Kropveld, daughter of Victor Emanuel Kropveld and Rosette Kosses, married the merchant Levie Swart, son of Gabriel Swart and Sara Peper, in Amsterdam on 14 January 1906. Frouwke was a widow by the time World War II started. Her husband Levie Swart had died in Amsterdam on 17 January 1940. She lived at 9 Ben Viljoenstraat in Amsterdam until she was deported.
The couple had twelve children: Gabriel, Lehman, Saartje, Marcus, Rozette, Jonas, Jesaya, Emma (died in Amsterdam in 1927), two children who died at an early age and a child who survived the war.

Copies remain of the birth certificate of Levie Swart (born in Amsterdam on 15 December 1873), of Levie Swart and Frouwke Kropveld's marriage certificate, of the request to have a chuppah and of Gabriel Swart's birth certificate.
