Jonas Vlessing was a son of Levie Vlessing and Betje Pampel. He married 8 June 1938 in Amsterdam to Debora Franschman, a daughter of Mozes Franschman and Rachel Franschman. The couple had one son: Levie.
Jonas was born in a family with seven children; two brothers have survived the war, however Sara, Lea, David and Abraham have been killed during the Holocaust.
