In August 1940, an obituary was placed in the Nieuw Israëlietisch Weekblad for Gerhard Polak. In a short In Memoriam in the same edition of the weekly, Gerhard Polak is mentioned as one of the first to join the Dutch League of Zionists. He was a manager of the NZB and he often performed as a speaker and writer for the NZB.
