About Arthur de Leeuw

Pursuant to the Royal Decree of 26 February 1814 at the initiative of King Willem I, the Nederlandsch Israëlitisch Seminarium (NIS) was founded in Amsterdam to provide the Jewish communities with rabbis, teachers and other officials. Arthur de Leeuw, the son of Elias, was enrolled at the NIS.
The police commissioner, chief of the Amsterdam juvenile police, requested that the minor Arthur de Leeuw, born in Amsterdam on 27 May 1922 and residing at 45 Holendrechtstraat, second floor, in Amsterdam, be located. He had been missing since 19 July 1942. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
