Saartje Verveer was the daughter of Lion Verveer and Kaatje Kosman. In 1886 she married Arnold Waisvisz, misician and music teacher. The couple had at least two children: Ephraïm (died in 1937) and Cato. Arnold Waisvisz died in 1938.
