About Werner Goldschmidt

Werner Goldschmidt arrived on 1 September 1936 from Berlin to Amsterdam. He was a technical advisor for steal and wooden furniture. He lived on several addresses in The Hague, Huizen, Naarden and Amsterdam. He married in 1936 and divorced in 1938. In 1942 he rented a room with the Frank family in Amsterdam. Anne Frank mentions him several times in her diary, partly because he had found the house empty when the family had gone into hiding. On 5 August 1942 Werner married Eva Schwarzschild in Amsterdam.

Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 4083/7660).
