Horst Eichenwald was deported to Sobibor in June 1943 from Vught via Westerbork on the so-called children's transport. He was 10 when he died.

Horst Eichenwald grew up with his parents and brother in Germany. In 1939 he was sent to his aunt Selma Klipstein-Simon in The Netherlands. After spending time in children's homes in Bergen aan Zee, Amsterdam and Eindhoven he was admitted as a foster-child with Salomon Mozes and his family.
