About Meijer Pruijm

The Pruijm family’s former downstairs neighbour remembers Meijer, who was also known as Max. Max was a brilliant musician; he studied the trumpet and the piano at the conservatory, and taught other musicians of his own age. He once played (by way of audition) for Willem Mengelberg, the then principal conductor of the Concertgebouw orchestra, who urged him to return and apply for a job after the war.
