Mozes Levie was known as Moos. He was married to Bloeme Pam. He performed at weddings and parties under the stage name Max Vilé. He was a prominent musician in pre-war cultural life in Meppel.

Mozes Levie actually had three children. He had an illegitimate child living in Frederiksoord, for whom he paid two and a half guilders a week in maintenance.
