About Israel Gans

Israel Gans was a son of Philip Israel Gans and Rebecca Peeper. He married 10 November 1903 in Antwerp to Judith Velleman from Antwerp, daughter of Aaron Velleman and Jetje de Jong.
Israel and Judith resided at the time of their marriage in Amsterdam at 1e Sweelinckstraat 1A, in 1918 at the Van Ostadestraat 295 in Amsterdam but most of the time Israel and Judith lived in Antwerp, where their daughter Rebecca was born and, who got married In Deurne (B) to Maurits van Straten.
His last address in Antwerp Borgerhout between 12 May 1941 and 2 July 1942 was Bloemstraat 57. He has been deported witht the fifth convoy of 25 August 1942 from Mechelen to Auschwitz, which has arrived about three days later and upon arrival immediately killed in the gaschambers.
On 7 May 1938 Israel and Judith divorced in Antwerp, and Judith moved in May 1940 to Vrolikstraat 243 III in Amsterdam, the address where her daughter with her husband and daughter Juliette then lived.
Israel Gans had another brother Levie, who was married to Lea de Beer.
