Jacob Cardozo was a son of Salomon Cardozo from Nijmegen and Judic (Judith) Polak from Amsterdam. He married 11 Februrary 1891 to Elisabeth Koekoek, a daughter of Jacob Isaac Levie Koekoek and Esther van Praag. The couple had five children: Esther, Jacob, Judith, Sophia and Hendrika.
According the Dossier of Foreigners of Antwerp, Jacob's residence was Walvischstraat 7 in Antwerp. His wife Elisabeth Koekoek died in the Municipality of Deurne (Prov. Antwerp) on 15 April 1943.
