Simon Vieijra was a son of Jacob Vieijra and Margaretha Monnikendam. He married 11 August 1926 in Amsterdam to Rika Cohen, a daughter of Philip Cohen and Johanna Goudsmid. She has survived the war and remarried in 1951. Also two of her three children have survived the war. Only her son Alfred has lost his life during the Holocaust. Since 1 March 1940 he stayed at the Pedagogium Achisomog in Apeldoorn.
Simon was born in a family with seven children, of whom one brother survived the war and one brother passed away before the war. His other siblings, like Marianne, Joseph, Abraham and Mozes have been killed too during the Holocaust.
