Froukjen van Rijn-Hes got married to Hartog Harmannus van R(h)ijn in Gorredijk on 4 March
1878. He died before 1897. In that year Froukjen moved to Amsterdam, together with her seven children (six boys and one girl, Gonda). She thought there would be better chances for her children in Amsterdam, compared to Veendam, where they used to live.

Froukjen van Rijn-Hes died on 6 March 1943 at the age of 93 in Camp Westerbork. She was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Assen on 10 March 1943.
