About Louis Godschalk

Louis Godschalk, son of Philippus Goldschalk and Rika Wolff, was married in Amsterdam on 28 February 1917 to Carolina Jacobs a daughter of Lion Jacobs and Mietje Ossendrijver. She was a seamstress. Until September 1940 they lived at Reamurstraat 22 in Amsterdam. Then they moved to Middenweg 3. The telephone book for 1937 has an entry for L. Godschalk and son: pharmacy, paint products, windowpanes, household goods and painting contractor. The address-book for 1939-1940 describes the business as a pharmacy. The registration at the Jewish Council reads: bread supplier, previously seller of paint products.

According to a list with shops of Jewish owners, compiled by the Amsterdam police in 1940, this family had a paint shop, address: Ringdijk 11 in Amsterdam.
