Vogeltje Emden was a daughter of Joost Emden and Jansje Canes. This couple had eight children, of which seven die not survive the Holocaust:
Fijtje, Benjamin, Mietje, Hijman, Abraham and Clara. She married in Amsterdam on 20 May 1921 to Nico Meijer
