About Wilhelm Wolff

Wilhelm Wolff lived in German Papenburg when Crystal Night took place. He fled to the From family at 8 Hoofdstraat in Ter Apel, where Jacob From had his grocery shop. In a short time, he managed to make the shop extremely successful. After his arrival, the shop supplied a large proportion of the North-Netherlands with matzos.

On 6 September 1939, Wilhelm Wolff got married to Jette From, the eldest daughter of Jacob From and Johanna Kropveld. The couple lived in with the parents of Jette in Ter Apel

The parents of Wilhelm Wolff, Jonas Israël Wolff and Helena Sara Wolff, wanted to come to Ter Apel from Germany to live with their son and to be looked after by him. He submitted a request to that effect on 6 January 1942 but never received a reply.
