Jetje Berkhof was a daughter of Hartog Abraham Berkhof and Simmetje Slomper. She married 12 December 1894 in Amsterdam to Joseph Swaab, a son of Benedictus Salomon Swaab and Rebecca Koen. The couple had twelve children, of whom one son has died in 1904, only 2 years old and three children have survived the war. Eight children have been killed during the Holocaust: Benedictus, Hartog, Mozes, Sientje, Anna, Aaron, Samuel, and Heintje.
Daughter Rebecca, survived the war but not her husband Mozes Nabarro.
Her husband, Joseph Swaab passed away on 21 December 1939 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen.
