Mozes Melkman and his family

Mozes Melkman's first wife was Rebecca Sarlui. Rebecca Sarlui died on 22 January 1934. The couple had one child.

On 23 August 1936 Mozes Melkman remarried. His second wife was Beatrix Eva Koster. No children were born from this marriage. The couple lived with their child at 23 Laing's Nekstraat, second floor, in Amsterdam. Mozes Melkman was a metalworker.

In April 1943 Mozes Melkman and his wife Beatrix Eva Koster were deported via Vught. Mozes Melkman had entrusted items of jewelry to a relative with a non-Jewish spouse. These items were looted during a raid by the Nazis. The child from the first marriage survived the war.

The archive of the Stichting Sieraden-Comité contains a list of the items of jewelry stolen, a file from the damage investigation committee and a statement of the right to inheritance from 1947.
