Bernhard Behrendt and his family

Bernhardt Behrendt was married to Ernestine Kramatschinsky. The couple had fled Berlin in 1938, where they had resided at 238 Linienstrasse. In Arnhem they lived at 5 Marktstraat. On 17 November 1942, the couple was arrested. Their jewelry was taken from them at that time. The couple had one child who survived the war in hiding.

The archive of the Stichting Sieraden-Comité contains correspondence, a statement of the right to inheritance and a list of stolen items of jewelry registered to Bernhardt Behrendt.
